I have been facinated by the impact of sexually related activities especially in the context of the USA. The apparent heirarchy of violence below sex. Many say that the public domain is of particular issue with children. And extreme example being a display of having sex on a billboard in timesquare. The point being that I think the problem in the U.S. is over-protecting the young people. Hell, they consider people as children until they are 18 and it's not until they're 21 that they are really adults. But take a look back at your family tree sometime - chances are great-grandma was married at 15 hmmmm. What are your opinions on how society should deal with all things sex? I'm concerned with actual intercourse as well as the nude human body. How far should we go in 'being comfortabl' with sex and our bodies? How far should we let society be comfortable with it? And most importantly, what is your take on this situation in your respective place of dwelling (whether that be town, city, state, country or region) ?

i think everything is fair if both partners are comfortable with it. Why should we care abt others and society? after all they r always there to criticize no matter what we do :D

Yo! Rasta maan! Him rasta smokin dem gaanjaa all da time. Biradar Rasta, next time you cuddle with dem partna(s), make sure you are not dem high, then you'll know what dem sex is! ;) I sure you will love dem sex more than dem gaanjaa! Kuro uthyo...aba...feri tei SEX ko...gaam gharaan thaa thiyena SEX-FEX kya ho bhanera...huna laai ta...tei raichha ;) Pahilo choti amrikaa aunda, gaanthe...aaimai haruko mushtha mushtha tighra dekhda ryal aunthyo aafno ta...twaaaaaaaaaaa parera haamri gaam ki Fulmati ni testari tighra dekhayera heede, kasto dekhinthyo bhanera sochdai... naaggai naangai tyo mutuno maatra chhopeko bademaan kaa photo haru...baataa bhari...thutuno pani kwappai khaidim jasto... tyo farak haru pani kati chhotaa chhotaa...haat ko bittai le naapna milni! Mutna parda sajilo ta hundo ho...tara mutnai naparda baataa bhari arle feri mutno dekhe bhane? dhet! tyo TV-CV kholda pani...laajai marnu...chwakka chukka garechhan...sirimati ko khappar ranakka...aafno mutuno ranakka! eheheh ************************ Well, the norms the societies live in are suprificial. When God created a man and a woman, I can only presume they were both naked. Sex, for pleasure or for procreation, must have been a mundane subject then, for nothing was hidden, hence nothing to be unnecessarily curious about. Sex has become a taboo at various levels in different societies because humans have made it so by creating restrictions on what nature had offered us. Who did it, when they did it, and why they did it are questions that surpass my comprehension. However, one can't escape the restrictions that societies have put forth either, whether we like it or not. At he same time issues of ethics and morality, for me, are relative -- and the more we are open and tolerant to varying levels of restrictions in different societies, the better off we will be. I cannot, and I will not, advocate liberal sex trend by which, God forbid, people might be coagulatiung in the streets; however, as long as we keep our MINDS free of prejudices on sex, I think the better we'll be off in terms of tolerance, acceptance, and harmonious living. One may not like everything that s/he sees, but one can certainly accept it as a part of another individual's perogative to judge sex on his/her own scale. The more open-minded we are about sex, I believe, the less curious we will be about it, hence less "horny" boys shall be, which would inevitably herald a trend of responsible sex, free of prejudiced lust and crimes.

I have a feeling that in the States, sex will always be taboo. I mean, if it hasn't changed in 250 years, why would it ever change? The situation over there is even weirder. It seems that whatever you do behind closed doors (and what you read in books/watch in movies/play in games) is 100% OK, but when it involves two people outside, everything is a no-no. I don't know which I like better or worse...

If anything, I say we should educate the kids in the early age. I think that one of the greatest disservices we can do to the children is to shield them from sex when we really should be teaching them how to deal with it, I think it's all related because teenagers are very mobile and get out on their own a lot, and in order to completely hide sex from them we have to ban it from more and more places. The only thing is, they're going at it like bunnies anyway. If anything, it's the secretive attitude that encourages them and the lack of adult guidance that makes it a problem. Besides, i dont like the fact that violence is below sex. Well than again someone can come up with...watching sex makes people horny, but watching violence does not necessarilly make people violent....and is easier for kids and teens to realize that the violence they see on TV shows, movies and games is just a pretend type of violence. And that being exposed to sexual imagery has a much more potent effect on viewers.

Well, there was once a survey done by some University in the State of Georgia, where group of people, who were identified as homophobic, were subjected to gay erotica and pornography. The finding... Well, a majority of homophobic people were sexually turned on by what they saw!!! One of my colleague (who happened to be asian) told me once, USA is a "Kingdom" of "Freedom" and " Paradise" of " Heaven". Not only in USA, but in entire world, Sex is neither "EVIL" or necessarily "BAD". It is a glorious expression of love and affection for those who care for each other, otherwise....... (well, we all are pretty much aware of the consequences...) Good to hear different approach of interpretation. Pheri Vaytaula...!!!

"I don't know which I like better or worse... " --> you mean ".......do behind closed doors........" OR " involves two people outside" ?:) hehe, J/K ;) And Matrix babe, rest assured, therez plenty of "sex" everywhere in U.S.A, along with 'violence'. Yes it is taboo for some, and benediction for many. And they are dealing quite fine with educating children here. Perhaps you were talking about Sex and Nepal. That would have been some topic wouldn't it?;). And they threading a fine line between sex, violence and whats appropriate/acceptable. USA is more liberal or rigid, depending on which part of the state you are in. Thus, it shall suffice to say that it is more or less on par with any developed european countries. Now, it does depend which specific city of USA you refer to. You be the judge. I think we need to educate all the children about sex and violence. And yes, they should restrict the level of exposer to the children within specific age bracket. There is only so much they can do, and trust me, they are doing more than what many of the 'sexually educated' countries. Just wanted to let ya know that 'future' of 'sex' looks bright here in USA. ;) Earnestly in jape, IndisGuise:)

mmmmmmmmmm sex? Everyone needs it in varying degrees. I agree with poonte that the more you do to whitewash it the dirtier it becomes. Okay --- what is it we are talking about here? The act of copulation or the broader and hence more nebulous term SEX? The act itself has gone beyond the function of procreation --- and for most of us it remains a private act and has taken on the additonal role of reinforcing emotional ties.

Educating all the children about sex via " Sex-Education" or liberalization of "Sex Education" to youngsters.... I am kinda skeptical about this kinda education. I am just wondering why there are these discussion of sexual organs, system including fertilization, pregnancy, puberty, birth control and sexually tranmitted diseases while giving Sex Education. Does that all, the youngsters wanna know, A-Z about Sex. Where is "SEX" in sex education??? If the sex education is about the in-depth study of "SEX" from attachment to detachment, then "Prabhu" ko Kasam, I will be the most attentive student in the class. Pheri-Vaytaula...!!!

SEX is not a taboo but when they say age limit, they just didnt' choose those number just because they liked them. It was a full speculations on various aspects. It is considered even by lot of psychologists that before 18 our brain is not mature enough to think what is right and what is wrong (Now I'm not generalizing each and everyone cause I know there are few smart ppl among us who won't agree with me). Being under 18 doesn't mean that you can't have sex at all..they can mess around with ppl under 21....thats the age set up so that grown ups won't take advantage of childrens' developing mind...persuade them, lure them and sexually exploite them. when talkin about our grandmothers getting married at the age of 15 (in some cases I've even heard getting married at the age of 9)....it was by the pressure and not by their choice. some people have even become mom at the age of 15, that don't mean it would work out for each and everyone (some are more developed physically than others). The government had to set up an age bar so that it would be safe enough for average girls to give birth and wouldn't harm her physically as well as mentally. If the government wouldnt' be scrict on the rule whats the point of making the rule and ISSUES COMES UP WHEN THE RULE IS IMPLEMENTED and THAT IS WHY IT IS A BIG DEAL. if you look at nepal or india, they also have this marrieage age of 18 for girls basically being the same reasons. The society is so conservative there that even to talk abut sex is a crime and thats why they say MARRIAGE. Over here its an open society so they say SEX directly instead of applying an indirect meaning~~ Teaching about sex in the early age won't be sufficient. I want to ask you all something...how many of us have been taught from early age is that smoking is harmful to health?? People still smokes.... what happened to all those anti-smoke education? Peaople make sex a big deal in States just because lot of people dont' follow the government standards and regulations!!

By the way yeah, those sex preditiors and petafiles are addicted to have sex with children so much that for them its just like a person who is addicted to heroine!! though he/she knows its harmful for them, they still do it and can't seem to stop!! I don't know about rest of the world but yeah in STATES there are more than a whole lot of petafiles wondering between you and me.

sex education i would say definitely would encourage children to have sex......but it should focus more on safe sex.....like the safe age to have sex and birth control and contraceptives and stuffs like that......i think the under 18 is because of that......if u learn in a class about something.....u definitely would be more curious about it and wanna try it.....

If you shield children from sex and fail to teach them how to be responsible and mature about it, of course they're going to f*** themselves up over it ... they don't know how to handle it, even though they will be invariably faced with it. Duhhhh!!! The same argument can be made for drugs. God God help me..... the puritanical morals of our society are destructive.
