I'm going to Nepal from US in this December via gulf air. There's about 11 hours of transit in London Airport. Do any friend here know if I can get transit visa to visit London in the meantime? What will the procedure for it?

About three years ago, I was in London for 17 hours in transit, on the way to US from Nepal. I didn't have a transit visa or anything. I went through immigration and explained to them that I just want to spend some time sleeping in a nearby hostel rather than in an airport. They granted me a 24-hr visa.

I was in London for 2 days last year, and i had to contact British Embassy and get visa from there before i left US. If one can get a transit visa in airport, i think thats an easier way.
