Filed i-130 for my wife exactly 2 years ago back when I was PR; 15 months later I became a citizen. Until now I haven't got any approval/denial about case status of my wife. when I inquire it says, case is delayed or case outside normal processing time. Sometimes they say I should get updates in 45 days, but it's been 3 or 4 times saying 45 days and similar response.

I went to USCIS office and it says it will take time. I have seen some people getting way earlier. I have already updated USCIS, ASAP I became a citizen. I feel like it's taking forever. Has anyone been in similar place? Any inputs will be highly appreciated.

I guess you have sent naturalized certificate and copy of receipt form to USCIS or National Visa Center, so now you just can do "wait and see".
I think When your file moved to National visa center (NVC) and they knew you are citizen then they expedite the process but in USCIS it does not matter you are citizen or GC. Hope it helps.

I advise you to call your local congressman office and ask to talk to the USCIS Liasion. They can really move your case quickly, if it has been a pending status for longer than it should be Or if you have an emergency for which you need to move the case quickly. I have done it a couple of times (for my and relatives cases), and they are always been helpful with positive result every single time. They provide this service for free for people living in their area.

Just google "your zip code - congressman office" it will show up. Be sure to contact the congressman, not the senator.

Have you talked to Leve 2 officer in USCIS? Never don't to Level1 officer if your case has past processing time and directly ask them for Level 2. They have all the info which you are looking for.

you can use INFOPASS in your local field office and ask them about your case.

Read the info on below website

Check this out it might help.

@Jaysmi, a congressman has a couple of offices around the area including one in DC. And every single congressman has a USCIS Liason whose job is to straightly contact USCIS and find details that you cannot get from Infopass.

Once you contact the USCIS Liason, they will email you an authorization form which you need to sign and send them. This is your consent for the Liason to discuss your issue with USCIS. That form will have a space to write what exactly are you trying to find out from USCIS, and what type of help do you need from Congressman's office. In one of my relatives case, it was a document they have requested which we already submitted. We went to Infopass, they asked for it again. This would have just make the process long, so we contacted congressman to ask USCIS to look at the previously submitted document properly (Infopass will not take a request like this). Liason asked USCIS to do that and within a week we got an email saying USCIS found the document and case moved forward without we having to do anything. In another case, we needed to get a citizenship faster for a very particular reason. Liason asked USCIS to speed up the process and got the citizenship from application to swearing within 1 and half months (disclaimer: the reason was very compeling. They do not do it for cases like "because I need to marry and bring my wife ASAP")

Anyway, from this point, you can just send all the documents meant for USCIS straightly to your congressman's Liason office and that person will mail/fax/email to his contact person in USCIS. They kind of act like a "free assistant" for you. It is unbelievably helpful. I would say 100x better than Infopass. I have exclusively relied on Congressman for my USCIS hiccups rather than dealing with USCIS myself or bothering about Infopass.
