Nepal might be good option than staying in US in this recession; here are some reasons ! - In Nepal at least you dont have to pay rent (most of ppl who went to US has atleast a house in Nepal) or pay minimal rent (Rs. 1500 for 1 room (200 sq. ft in CAPITAL) - Insurance, what the hell is this ? - Travel Cost ? get a bike NOT CAR you will save in fuel & time. 50 KM/litre - Grocery, yes the price is on hike, but if you know how to save in US by going into discount stores then its pretty easy in Nepal, buy late evening or early morning. - Outing: You have option from street food stalls, strip clubs, elite pubs, family resturants till 11:00 PM - You can save once a year travel ticket to Nepal ($2000 USD). We may try to however hard, but while staying in US we always yearn to go back to Nepal for atleast a month vacation. But if you are in Nepal, you WONT YEARN to go to US for vacation ! - And biggest advantage, TAX DEDUCTION. What in the God's name is that thing ! You just mind your own business working and living your life. Dont need to pay hefty tax like US or be afraid from long arm of cheating in taxation. There is always a legal way around saving your hard earned money. Now here is mathematics, you have already saved around $700/mo (in rent, food, insurance, transport, travel ticket, etc) by staying in Nepal. Think if you have avg. job ~ Rs. 15,000/mo (Specially, if you have atleast Bach. in Computer from USA) . Which will make around 200 USD. So in total your earning will be like NETT. $900 USD in USA if you live in Nepal, which turns out 1400 USD gross salary. Plus you wont have to work as machine, you will be getting regular breaks due to festivals, bandhs, family support and can hang around with your childhood, school-college days friends whenever you want without any fear of losing your job for living your life on your own terms !

भाषान दिन सजिलो हुन्छ नेता हरु जस्तो Why don’t you go Nepal and live there then you will realize that you are taking everything here for granted. - Hot and cold running water 24/7
- Electricity 24/7
- Even if you brain tumor or cancer they treat you regardless
- Call 911, police/ambulance/firefighter get here within 10 min. to save you ass regardless of you ethnicity or status
- Can own a car even if you work for a gas station/restaurant.
- No ‘dhulo’ dhuwa
- best hygiene food in the world, don’t see buffalo meat hanging on rikshaws and shopkeepers don’t sell you dead chicken and dead goat meat
- get free education for your children including lunch.
- Don’t have to bribe to get driving license or sell your own land.
I went to Nepal 6 months ago. I don’t think I can live there in such situation. Think thrice before you make decision.

nice reply bisal not like some pissed off guys before you. But also think WHAT YOU are giving for all those amenities...
1. Working like machine day and night. Has our prime life be wasted in such a way.
2. Leaving family, loved ones
3. And when will Nepal ever change, if all of us get attached to such living and never think of our motherland. We are not here to prove - Aam buwa ko man Chora Chori mathi, Chora Chori ko maan DHUNGA MUDA * mathin. Note: Dhunga Muda (24/7 hot/cold water, gas station job to ride a car )

i am in favor of surajkharel. america is nothing but paradise jail. It is a paradise because all the comfort are here. 24/7 water, electricity, car, everything, but you got a work your ass off. Nothing much buddy, all you have to do is to be sick for few months then you will see real america. No loved ones, no friends, everything will wind up in bills. No social back up at all. Just like jail what you are missing here is your families, friends, and your loved ones. All you have is just phone calls and if you are lucky you might get a chance of going back your home once every two years. That also depends upon how much vacation you can take from your job and if you were able to save enough money to go back because you have to think about paying the monthly mortgage and insurance and monthly bills. Just like in jail you have some security here, since it is a jail you need to have security. I am for sure more secured then what i was back in my country. But are you able to give some security to your own family and loved ones who are back in the country facing all kind of situations. I am also trapped in this paradise just like each and everyone of you guys. It is nothing to be proud of. You have to have a big will power to overcome the power of this paradise. Enjoy the paradise.

Really funny that you guys should talk of Desa Bhakti. It will be desk bhakti when you do more than talk about it. No matter how much you try, you can take yourself out of Nepal but you cannot take Nepal out of you. So, support some causes back in Nepal, particularly educational ones.... Then your life will be worth it for all the support you received from your birth to the time you left. Many people are trying to do something in their own way for making Nepal a better place than it was, or it is. I know life in Nepal is nowhere in comparison to amenities in USA. But life is not all about amenities and facilities. It is about happiness more than anything else. Finding a meaning to one's life is the essential search. Nepal might be down in the hell, but that is why we have opportunities to make it better. That is where the challenge lies and that is where the greatest satisfaction comes from. Being out of Nepal does not preclude you from taking interest and participating in efforts to change course for Nepal and create that "new" Nepal everyone has been talking about.

ya man it's not worth it. you come here at the age of around 18. you panic , go to school, work like thieves and work more. You realize that you're inferior, they laugh at you, they don't want you here, but you have to find a way to be here cuz of the clean water, good roads, and security. You spend your prime time running after jobs, h1b, lawers, going to sajha and looking for immigration forums and what, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 years pass by. you can not give any security, comfort , or togetherness to your family or loved ones back home. finally, the best thing that can happen is one day you realize you've gotten your permanet residency, congratulations now you can live like this for ever.or worse, you didn't get pr and now you are stuck with your failure for life... lucky are those who never cam over and started their life back home. so think million times before you jump into this boat of no return..

you do not have to suggest anyone anything. If you want to stay in usa it is ur own decision and u should be ready to face the consequences. If you want to go to Nepal sure go ahead and face the consequences. surajkharel if you want to back to nepal, no one is stopping you. go ahead. People who are in usa and say i love my country, we should do this and that for nepal are hippocrates. example: nepalese soceity in every state. If you mean these words go back, why are u here.It is ur personal decision but it comes with price no matter nepal or usa.

thanks everyone for your views and comments specially papermoon, redlotus for your inputs. I am not saying NEPAL IS BETTER THAN US nor US is better than NEPAL. I am just doing some maths and trying to deduce which life is better ? And wanted all your views too upon the subject. I strongly support papermoon's scenario of being sick in foriegn land. Been there and only I know how hard it was to even get out of bed when you are sick to even go for number 2.
I think US is good place ONLY IF you have good job to meet all your expenses and save something ! Unless, we save for future, its not worth living (not intended for students who are studying and earning life). But due recent job cuts, recessive market, huge outsourcing to India and regular close down of companies, malls, fast foods, resturants, EARNINGS have gone down like never. Be it IT related jobs, online earnings, ecommerce or any brick and motar biz, people has stopped spending. No matter how much this president will try with relief package it will be hard to convince US citizens who lost their millions in Madoff, Mortages, foreclosure, etc. AND BELIEVE ME unless people spend the economy will never bounce back no matter how many billions govt. pump in. I know NEPAL CANNOT MEET US standard amenities, even basic infrastructure like eletricity, water is lacking. But people are trying, many micro-hydro projects are underway, water tunnel from melamchi is underway (some chinese company won tender), the development is not in the speed which we are expecting like in developed countries like US but still there is ray of hope for under developing countries. If a country can survive in 16hrs of laodshedding in a day, think what can it do when it get Water, Electricity, Medicine ? So instead of spending remaining bucks on trying luck in US, i think its better to invest it in Nepal for my future, our countrys future !

" America like paraside jail " - papermoon reminds me of song - Phil Colins Another day in paraside She calls out to the man on the street sir, can you help me? Its cold and Ive nowhere to sleep, Is there somewhere you can tell me?
He walks on, doesnt look back He pretends he cant hear her Starts to whistle as he crosses the street Seems embarrassed to be there
Oh think twice, its another day for You and me in paradise Oh think twice, its just another day for you, You and me in paradise
She calls out to the man on the street He can see shes been crying Shes got blisters on the soles of her feet Cant walk but shes trying
Oh think twice...
Oh lord, is there nothing more anybody can do Oh lord, there must be something you can say
You can tell from the lines on her face You can see that shes been there Probably been moved on from every place cos she didnt fit in there
Oh think twice...

Dude, if you want to go back to Nepal to serve her and pay back your dues, then I salute you. But if your desire is inspired by the reasons that you have outlined in your original posting, then you're an idiot. No one goes back to Nepal to save money, and rightly so. However, I support the fact that you have at least raised an idea of going back. It's easy to live outside, criticize the downfalls and shortcomings in Nepal, and expect someone else to fix all the issues there. Until and unless, we all participate and contribute to our country, the future of our motherland can only get as bright as loadshedded Nepal.

Suraj bro, rather than saying those things staying in US, go to Nepal (not intending to come back to US again), don't use any money u earn from US, manage there a good lifestyle, then after some weeks, post it. They we are proud of you. Bhanne matra ho bhane ta ma pani tei kura bhanna sakchhu ni but i know it's not practical as you are saying here. And next thing, as an average nepalese, the income in Nepal would be around Rs 6000 - 10000 a month. Calculate the saving after u spend ur expenses from it. . (Don't compare ones with Rs 20,000 - 40000 a month, that's not average nepalese lifestyle. ) Yehaa kaam garera if the same average person can save just $ 500 a month and send half of his income to his family (Rs 15000) a month, it is far better. By doing not only is his family benefiting but the country too from remittance. So bro, u go to nepal, settle there and post later, and then we all be proud of you.

Dear Suraj Bro, I totally agreed on your views. But I wonder why lot of these fagots have problems just to start a thread to return to our homes. Greed and materalism is killing these poor nepalese who always ride public buses, cycles, cook in stoves and lived their lives below the average standard. Once they come to US, buy a car, rent an apt., and basically raise their so called living standard and think that our beautiful beloved NEPAL is not a place to live a life. Every coin has two sides. When you talk abt the dark sides of Nepal, You moron idiot should mention the better and the beutiful sides of the country too. Thanx Suraj Kharel.
