How far is it safe and profitable to send money through Muncha.com? Or is it good through bank paying 40 bulks or Western Union is good???

I like their service, send some money couple of times and find perfect for me. Once I told them to do direct deposit in my parents account at Kathmandu, and they called my home at kathmandu to confirm the account nos too, so i am completely satisfied and recommend muncha for money transfer.

Atomic,
I think Muncha is safe and cheap. I have been using it since the last two years. However, they offer almost a dollar less in transaction then the market value.
Good luck

Muncha is a reliable and very poorano brand in Nepal, not one of those highway robbers setting up online business (Zen Travels??). They have gained trust over last 50 odd years. Muncha online has been in operation longer than most of you have had your credit card in Amrika.

Studying little while, i just found Muncha is expensive cause they return the dollar amount with the value of USD 1 = NPR 66.7260(currently) which does not include fees so after deducting fees, it seems more expensive, rather i would like to give you information bank transfer will be more profitable cause bank charges only 40-45 dollars to the direct account of receiver giving it in the value of general rate i.e 67.40.(No matter how much money do you send they charges same amount). However, in banks they look for the green cards if u r sending big amounts like more than 1000. So, you can use any person of in ur relation(G.C) to send money. One more thing, Beside this Western Union is cheaper than muncha, i dont have the proper calculation for this western union cause i dont know the exact fees abt it. But for the students friends if u guys are sending below 500, they dont ask for social number either, in large amount they search for you details. But I am sure it is cheaper than muncha.

( One more story, one of my fren was tryin to send money through bank, he was sending 1500 bulks to his family. The bank asked u r not a green card holder, u r jus an international student, why u r sending this money, my fren immediately replied my father send me a lot of money, i dont feel safe to carry this huge amount, if i need i will call for money again. then bank agrees to send money. But this case is not applicable to all person, bank usually doesnt agrees to send big amount of money, if u r student)

I remember, one old thread in sajha, abt the calculation of companies that sends money. He has also mentioned the same. Once again thank you guys.
Jai nepal.

I think bank transfer will be much more profittable and reliable than these dot coms. Do you know how much banks in Nepal charge. I heard Kumari bank charges very less. What about investment, nabil or everest banks?

Mitra haru,

No one takes charge of your money 'totally free'. You must be in deep illusion.

Saathi , I've been using this online transfer service called moneytonepal.com for few years now and have found to be very good, like all companies they make a small profit on foreign exchange but moneytonepal is the only company out there that choose not to charge a so called "transfer fee". So I have been enjoying a free service for the past few months. try it and take the benifit guys.

Have been using thamel.com and usually the exchange rate is slightly better than muncha.. The service is reliable and I have used it without any issues. They call the recipient back home to confirm that the money has been deposited. No charge over 2k.. but I guess they make money out of the exchange rate. No charge by bank in Nepal as well... For wire transfer from US bank ie wamu or bank of america.. the bank in Nepal charges for it.
