r4rupace ! aeronautics sounds to be a very fascinating field. I also came to us with the primary major in aerospace engineering, but later on after going to a couple of career fairs, i saw that nobody wants to hire an international student in aeronautical/aerospace engineering. If u wanna go to grad school, earn a phd and then earn money, then it might be a good choice. But, if u wanna get a job after undergraduate, fill your pocket, enjoy life a little, then let me warn you that you might not get a job right after undergraduate in aerospace. The employers are mostly government contractors. They don't hire international students.
So, i finally changed my major to Electrical Engineering, which is a lot of fun. But, still due to my passion for aerospace, I am working on micro air vehicle club. U can do something like that if u r really passionate, or go on to get a phd.
afterall, it's your choice

Aeronautical Engineering sure sounds fascinating and it is. But, from job market point of view and also from point of view of gaining broader fundamental knowledge in undergrad studies, I would rather do Mechanical Engineering with specialization in, e.g., Lightweight structures or composites applicable to Aerospace engineering, such that I would have a broader range of options to play around with while looking for job at the same time broader knowledge. But if you really can do good in a specialized field as Aerospace engineering, then you shouldn't have problem landing in any job. But as dhamilo says if you are an international student, then you might want to seek suggestions from other international students in that field. Just my two cents.

r4rupace,
Hey, good choice. It depends wat kind of career you want.If u want an ok kind of job in Nepal later on then go for some private Indian Schools..of course don't forget to check they are recognised or not..come home and get the appointement letter on ur door..
Now if u wanna have a broader perspective..go to US(the best) I think..and get ur degree...as they say Mech Engg will be best for undergrad..so later you can specialise in any field of aeronautics or if u change ur mind u can go for Industrial Engg ,Automobile...so u will have wide range of options........and no worries about the job after completion.
In Nepal there are not many Aeronautical Engineers.(most of them r Russian ones and mechas)..and u will get a good bargain with private companies too.
