Abducting people..
Forceful donations...
And, so many to mention…
Maoists are pressurising local people in Kathmandu to feed and provide shelter to their cadres. They are not requesting but forcefully asking to accommodate and feed 10 cadres from each household for three days during their proposed mass meeting of November 10 at Open Air Theatre of the capital. And, those who refused are threatened to keep a ‘record’ of their names.
People fear them; however they are coming out now on street to protest them. They are organising chhaka jams, sit-in protests, chanting slogans against Maoists.
Funny thing is the Maoists leaders have been denying such reports and saying that they are not forcing people to accommodate or feed their cadres. As always, isn’t it so obvious what they are doing and what they are saying?
If they can plan for killing thousands of people for years and if they can plan for such a mass-meeting, they should also plan, prepare and manage it themselves. If they can’t handle, they could have organised mass-meetings all over the country and avoided such a situation. Why is it so necessary to bring a million people in such a crowded valley? What are they trying to prove?
For the things they do, do you think they are winning the hearts and mind of common people?
Is this the kind of democracy they are trying to achieve where everything is always done forcefully?
