Do you know od any faster way to send money to Nepal? I'm trying to send some pocket money to my brother for Dashain and not sure what is the fastest and reliable way to do that. All the banks will be closed starting on Thursday (Fulpati), so please let me know if you know of any faster way.

send it via Western Union. it is the fastest. as soon as you handover your money and complete the transaction here, money is ready for a pick up. just specify which Western Union location is closest for you in Nepal.
Only thing is an exchange rate is few rupees less than others money transfer agent. But only option to send money faster though unless you carry yourself in a mega supersonic jet to deliver. ha ha ha ha ........ :-)

I am not sure of transferring money from USA to nepal . But, www.kgarne.com pays your application fee and other small payments in USA if you pay them in Nepal. I had once used them for paying one of my relatives in nepal by transfering 100 dollars to one of their affiliate's account in USA. My relatives got the equivalent amount in Nrs. in Nepal. However there iwas a fee of $5 associated with that.

and right now they have an exchange rate of 72.99, where as western union has 69.85, Now you do the math

Is money gram as reliable as Western union? Do they deliver as fast as Western Union?

Yes money gram is reliable and fast compare to western Union, Like I said they have better exchange rate as well

I have used Thamel.com ( https://www.thamelremit.com/ ) service to send money. They give good exchange rate and they have free service promotion time to time. First time money sending takes about 4 days and after that only 2 days for delivery. They notify the party in Nepal that the money has been deposited to the bank account which is cool. Exchange rate is very important factor while sending money.

you talking 2-4 days and Iam talking second and you make your own decission and Like I said now Money gram has an exchange rate of 72.99.

if you are sending less than 500 use moneygram for larger sums use site like thamel.com or muncha... i agree moneytonepal sux..but i have had good experience with thamel.com and muncha
