A male parliamentarian took official funds claiming he was pregnant!
My beloved country is notoriously famous for constituting Commissions. One commission is constituted and thereafter the next one is constituted to watch as to what the hell the first one has been doing.
The third comes into existence in order to monitor the doings of the previous two and thus the process goes on and on.
Needless to say, the Prime Minister has a separate committee to watch the biases, that are in abundance, of all the committees formed in order to bring the notorious to books, bring under the law those who have raped girls under teens; to apprehend those who have fled with other's wives, to bring under the purview of the laws of the land those who more often than not are used to violate the laws and so forth.
This has been a process that has been kept alive as a tradition since six decades or so.
However, what is missing so far is the absence of the formation of a committee which could have exposed the mis-deeds and mis-appropriation of those who were themselves members of the committees to expose the others.
For instance, there is reportedly a journo-member comprising the high level probe commission who have had the illustrious career of seeking government doles at different intervals of the past democratic years. And look the tryst of destiny, he is the one who has remained vocal in seeking clarifications from a section of the media men who have had, deliberately or otherwise, were awarded Dashain grants. Many of whom have forcefully said that they were not the ones as printed in the media to have pocketed amounts from the government.
Who will thus dare to summon this media man now behaving like a judge who is himself not a sacrosanct personality if one were to peep his recent past.
Who will dare to summon those parliamentarians not so in the distant past who took hundreds of thousands from the parliament in the name of having been pregnant? A male parliamentarian in the annals of the parliament's history has accepted money claiming that he had become pregnant. This is a fact. If not sure then you can ask the parliament secretariat.
Who will summon him the letter?
Likewise, who will summon the letters to those media men who have had the glorious opportunity to accept doles and grants in the previous Dashai festivals. Or is it that the Dashain festival was a one time affair only and that only under the regime of the King, such festivals commenced?
We have had Dashain festivals each year. Thus what could be deduced is that if there were Dashain festivals, there must have been grants and doles from the government coffers going to the pockets of high-ranking democratic media men.
Then who will summon them all?
Is some one listening?
