काठमाडौं, कार्तिक ३ - प्रेस स्वतन्त्रतासम्बन्धी अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय सूचीमा नेपाल सबैभन्दा कम प्रेस स्वतन्त्रता भएको आठौं मुलुकमा परेको छ । रिपोर्टर्स विथआउट बोर्डर्स -आरएसएफ) को बिहीबार प्रकाशित 'विश्वव्यापी प्रेस स्वतन्त्रता प्रतिवेदन २००५' मा १६०औं स्थानमा रहेको नेपाल आठौं स्थानमा झरेको उल्लेख छ ।
स्वतन्त्र प्रेसले १५ वर्षमा हासिल गरेको उपलब्धिलाई शाही सत्ताले सेन्सरसिप, गिरफ्तारी र पत्रिकाको कार्यालयमा सेना पठाएर समाप्त पार्न लागेको प्रतिवेदनमा उल्लेख

छ । प्रतिवेदनमा भदौ दोस्रो साता १ सय ५० पत्रकारलाई सरकारले गिरफ्तार गरेको तथा माओवादीले पत्रकारहरूको हत्या र अपहरणका साथै धम्की दिने गरेका घटनाहरूलाई उल्लेख गरिएको छ ।

सरकारले जारी गरेको सञ्चार अध्यादेश अगावै यो प्रतिवेदन तयार भएको हो । सञ्चार अध्यादेशका कारण नेपालको अवस्था आगामी वर्ष झनै तल र्झन सक्नेछ । संसारका १ सय ६७ मुलुकमध्ये सबैभन्दा कम प्रेस स्वतन्त्रता भएका दस मुलुकको लहरभित्र सूचीकृत गरिएको नेपालमा भियतनाम र चीनभन्दा पनि कम स्वतन्त्रता भएको उल्लेख छ । चीन नवौं र भियतनाम दसौं स्थानमा छन् ।

And what about irresponsible Journalism and Yello Journalism. I guess we are also in the top ten in that category.

Who does yellow journalism? kg's government or free nepali media? Who distorts facts?
kg is doing all this becuase he doesn't want people to be informed about all that is being done by him and his slaves in the dark. Corruption and has increased hundred fold and his limited cronies are doing with nation what they want. There were some dirts in democracy too but free press was there to inform people.
There may exist some yello journalism but what is the use of youe brain? Can't you distinguish what is true journalism and what is yellow journalism?

dusman, are you happy with this government's behaviour towrds free media? How long will you be happy? Until your mouth is shut too? That day is not so far unless you happen to be one of kg's willful slaves.

Well people free media is the thing but if the whole country is not free, free media aint' gonna do nothing. if ya'll want the free media, free the country!!

People talk this and that bout this KING all the time. People say Parase is this and Parase did that. they are not just sitting inside the palace and ruling....If ppl hate them that much, why can't one of them have guts to shoot them or so when they come out out in da street. I bet there are enough guns in da street of nepal these days!!


Now I'm smelling the whole MAOIST propoganda is run from inside the palace, otherwise they way the media was brought the maoist up, they could have already done a whole lot.
