Anybody stuck in a Dhoti consultancy? I'm stuck in a desi company for the last 2 and half months. People with computer background either got a job or don't care because they fall under the 29 months STEM OPT thing. I have business background and trying to get a job as a BA but no luck. And the company don't tell anything about H1 status. Anyone in the same situation?

Well dude...u said "People with computer background either got a job or don't care because they fall under the 29 months STEM OPT thing "..I am one of those people but tell u the fact,falling in Stem category also does not make me comfortable, coz' the 29 months OPT extension is only for E-verified companies,and many companies like mine are not ready to enroll in this program.

And yeh,about the H1,have patient till June 2nd.

Dont worry man ... i am also in the same situation hopefully i will get some update regarding my H1B in a week ... lets seee paryoo bhane thikaai cha natra consultancy lai bye bye garera  faraaar hanne ho bro dont worry i think must of us are in the same situation ...lets hope for the best but we gotta  prepare for the worst situation .... pheri back to old life gas station n all ...status ko chakaaarrr ma jindagi bitla jasto cha .

Hello shadows.....what do u mean by E-verify company......School le extend garne ho ki company le garne ho...plz if possible or make me clear........that would be great.........thankx

vastav bro..E-Verify is a free, internet-based system operated in partnership with the Social Security Administration that helps employers to determine the employment eligibility of newly-hired employees...

You can go for opt extension from the school with STEM, however to be eligible for OPT extension, the company u r working needs to be enrolled in E-verify program.Many companies like mine do not want to expose their information to federal programs,so they do not agree to participant in such programs.

I have MBA from US and electronics from Dhaka, now I am working as Consultant (dhoti company)......
SO my question is...Am i still eligible for Extension??????.........AND
It has to B done by school  or consultancy..................
and ,.,,,,lastly.........if my Consultancy agree......can I start the process...........
Plz reply yar.....I havent got my H1B aproved yet.....so Iam in tense...

Well, vastav bro..I could be wrong but since MBA does not fall under STEM category,u may not be eligible for opt extension, it doesnot matter if your company is everified or not.But you may want to make sure with your student advisor on this if your company agree to enroll in everify.If both agree,u should be cool..Well, vastav bro I wish u good luck with h1b,I know how it feels to wait..

same here, stuck in dhoti consultancy, my opt expires on june 10th, so i will lose my job as a college tutor, no plans for cap gap, just one interview for BA which i didn't get, guys i am messed up, everyone is worried about my situation except me

guys any suggestions before its too late, btw i am in nyc right now.
