Hi!
When i checked my case online it showed :case received and pending; i am worried about status based on following information.

Graduate date: Mid of May07
Opt applied and notice date on confirmation receipt: 29 march07
Opt start date on application: june 1st 07

In this situation, if the case status is still same within mid of july( which will cover 60 days from date of graduation), what will happen to my status? Does it effect status or since i have I-20 for 1 year opt, will it be fine ?
anybody familiar with this situation?

sansar1,

You don't need to worry about your status or 60 days rule at all. Due to the graduation season and the H-1b thing it takes little more time (sometimes) to get your OPT. All you have to do is wait. Once you have receive the receipt you would never be out of status. It has happened to quite a few of my friends. If you still don't get your OPT within the time that is mentioned pn the receipt (which is typically 45-90 days or sometimes 60-120 days), then go to the local USCIS or INS office and tell them what happened. They will issue you an OPT for the remaining time. You abosolutely don't have to worry at all. I hope this helps.
