Dear esteemed friends of Sajha, Do you know of or have worked with an IT consultancy that is willing to work with someone who does not have a degree yet? Because of "life" happened I just came back to schooling and am still 2 years away from finishing it. I do have an EAD but not a PR. I have heard of people talking about such companies existing but my solitary search yielded nothing and I am hoping to get help from the community. Thank you.

Instead of learning IT....why not learn how to change the phone screen...and like the other post mentioned...go into an affluent area ....and open a small 100 sq ft store...paying not more than $1000 in rent and go from there...in few years...you'll make 1.5 the money that IT workers make. fantasy... IT is an over rated industry..and IT worker's salary hasn't gone up in the past 10 years because of too much interest from all over the world...Plus you'll be competing against people with smart degree in IT industry...Remember in any sports, you always win against weaker player...Not smart players...Similarly, why go into an industry, where there is an over production of smart people...lower wage...and the industry itself keeps changing so much that you have to keep learning everyday.....instead, if you learn how to change the screen of these iphones and ipads...you won't be inventing new thing..you can invest whatever you want...but not to make a living....plus you'll be dealing with clients..indvidual clients...many of whom will probably give you free iphones and ipads...that they don't know what to do with...and you can probably sell those as well once you fix it...where as in IT...you'll be moving from project to project...not know when one project ends and when another starts...and this will be your life for a long while if you start today...but if you have that 100 or 200 sq ft store in a great area (you must research what makes an area a great area for fixing phones) and you'll probably have a long lease...and you'll be there for years...and someday....be able to sell you business like in the other post for 50k to 100k..who knows.

I truly appreciate the time you took to reply and understand where you are coming from but it is not something that aligns with my interest. I assume if it were as easy as said, there would be an influx of such businesses as well. Let us not forget, nothing is easy and competition is everywhere. Having said that, everybody can't be a doctor and at this point and time business is not the right answer for me. This is something I will keep in mind though, cheers.
