u r fogetting the root cause of insurgency. insurgency is not merely ten years old u know. it goes back decades. it is a result of unjustice, inequality. it is a conflict between the classes, teh oppressors adn the oppressed. we cannot solve the problem of insurgency wihtout adresing these issues. insurgency stems out of deeprooted unsatisfaction and resentment k.

Maoist are brutal, they not only kill but they are so gruesome. Most of the maoist who are carrying guns even dont know what they are fighting for. All they know is that the people are scared of them and they get free food , money and whatever. Most of them are uneducated.plenty of them are minors. how can they possibly rule the country.

these maoist who are habituated in living a life by collecting money by extortion and killing. Will they change if maoist come to the governtment. It will be almost impossible to give all of them who are carrying guns a job. And what job can they do. Most of them are uneducated.As much as i like to be optimistic, i see no solution to this problem in near future.

I dont know where you get your information to form your argument. Why dont you educate me please! I am sure your informaiton about the insurgency will be very helpful to the nepali maobadis, they will be glad to know their own history which they think is only a decade old. but this is what i feel. maobaids did not wake up one morning 1994 feb. 10 and said , "hey it's a nice day outside. lets start a people's revolution!!". i have not studied the maobadi history, but i know that they are dissatisfied with the economic and social organization. that is why the snatch land from people. previously they wanted to establish a communism; tara ahile they are leaning towards establshing whatever people want to do. they have begun their offical reovlution in 1994, but obviusly this revolution stemmed out of decades' of resentment.

There are times when you say, you do not support the maobadis and there are times when you "try" to justify insurgency. Isn't this called double standard?

i think the insurgency has just causes. i think whatever the maoists claim to be fight for is on fair grounds. what i don't like is waht the maobabids practise and thier strategies of violence and their use of force.
i am not contradicting anything. its just hard to come to a conclusion when you are aware of both sides of the issue. i don't have to win anything. i respect waht you feel and i resepct what everybody else feels. i jus thought my opinions would be resepcted as well......

Of course I doubt the data, we all should. THere is a difference between blindly accepting what is presented and taking the information with reservation before accepting it after confirming with other sources. I am of the latter type.

Of course I respect your opinion but do not agree with your conclusions. On this thread you indicated that you do not support maobadis but now you are saying that you support the "cause" of insurgency, however you put it does not make any difference.

If you support the cause of insurgency, you support maobadis, period. If you legitimize the insurgency and sympathize with the maobadis, you support the maobadis, period. It does not take Einstein to figure that out ;-) You denounce the violence but accept the insurgency? Where does the insurgency stand without violence? Where do maobadis stand without violence? Nowhere. Isnt this contradiction??

i dont' have the capacity to lead nepal. but politicians, kings and maostis ...no matter what, are still the leaders of my country. they are the ones able to plunge us out of this mess. as the citizens of nepal, we all have teh right to critisize and applaud our leaders. and participate in a political discussion. why is that bothering u so much?
why don't u tell us waht we should do in nepal? i might not be in the streets revolting aginast the king, i might not be in teh jungle fighting a revolution......u know why, because i don't have that capacity. i am just an average citizen. i cannot lead my country. all i can do is hope, pray, and express my opinions....
