my favs are Chetan karki and Pradeep Giri...but I am also big fan of Ganesh Raj Sharma for his clarity if thoughts, his candid expression and in his own words "madhyam panki to dhaar" ....I am just wondering where are these guys amid this disgusting chaos of madenly crowd.... lets explore our best nepalese thinkers and speakers...whom do you like to watch and listen talking.....

for some reasons-- and i am pretty sure it's not just me-- i have found that communist leaders seem to be more cognizant and their arguments, be it democratic or otherwise, sound more cogent. (NOTE: i believe that an argument does NOT necessarily has to be agreed with by majority in order for it to be RIGHT) with that note, i have found following personnels-- in nepal-- to have strong oratory skill: 1) Late Madan Bhandari (i heard him just once though but that was good enough for me) 2) Pushpa Kumar Dahal aka Prachanda in congress, without a shadow of doubt, it has to be Pradeep Giri among non-political personnels, i find Kamal Mani Dixit's speeches and writing--pretty attractive to my senses. in academia, to me, Dr. Minendra Rijal is a living encyclopedia. he may not be greatest of the orators, but boy, he seem to "know" everything. Disclaimer: my view is strictly based upon my own personal observations. there could be several other better orators and talent that i have not noticed, and if it's true, i ask for an apology for missing them. no offense! :-) LooTe

Lootekukur, "with that note, i have found following personnels-- in nepal-- to have strong oratory skill:" Whose "personnel" are you talking about? I never knew if Madan Bhandari was anyone's "personnel" but I guess Prachanda might be. But again is there another Prachanda? Puspa Kamal Dahal or "Pushpa Kumar Dahal". I cant say anything about Puspa Kumar Dahal but Puspa Kamal Dahal is a liar whose oration is based only on propaganda. Minendra Rijal is another false intellectual who pretends to know everything but quite really doesn't.

yeah, "person" would be a more appropriate term for madan bhandari and for pushpa"kamal" dahal as well although i meant to refer to the "school of thought" they believe(d) in rather than the individual ideas they possess(ed). well, the thread asked for orator --one who can skillfully put forth his/her ideas. you don't necessarily have to agree with them, hoina ra? Minendra Rijal is another false intellectual who pretends to know everything but quite really doesn't. just like you claim that, i say the opposite and i am okay with your view about him. moreover, i don't want to discuss on individuals coz there could be different sides of the stories and you or i may not be aware of all. my take was based on few personal meetings. i was impressed by what i saw. may be my observation was not complete or so could be yours. i guess this forum can still exist without commenting on individuals. i believe more on the system/group or the thought process involved in general, rather than individuals. :-) LooTe

Pushpa kamal dahal aka prachanda re hahaha. He is a laughing stock now. He has no control on his words and losing credibiilty with all the rubbish and lies he speaks out. Let me tell you one joke (Although it shouldn't be new to anybody), one day doctor said to prachanda " Your wife is pregnant". Prachanda replied " King or Palace must be involved in this ".

Lootekukur, It is non personal when you quote somebody but becomes personal when I quote the same person. Is this a subtle hypocrisy? We don't really need to care to say whether we like or don't like each other's point of view. Do we?

hey meek, i said i am okay with your view-- nothing personal! you may agree with me or agree to disagree with me. that's fine. i was just a bit skeptic about initiating a discussion on individuals. we have seen people having antipathy for mahatma gandhi, aversion for sir winston churchill. so, i guess your statement on dr. rijal was not totally unexpected, at least for me! :-) LooTe
