Dallas Mavericks are on their second hot run of a winning streak of 10 runs or more.
They have the best record in the NBA right now but are they the best team and can they go on to win the championship that they dearly missed last season after having it in their grasp?

Well I am a Mavs fan and i think that they are the best team and will win the coveted title this year.

And they have been winning matches without Dirk proving that they are not a 'one man' team but a team of performers.

What do you guys have to say?

dallas have the best record. they have a good team. they have a legitimate chance. i still cannot believe that they lost to the lowly miami last year!!! biggest hurdles in dallas's path will come from (sorry, no prize for guessing) san antonio and the suns... but dallas has a real good chance sahayog..
personally, i am rooting for suns... let's run and gun in the valley of the pheonix suns!

If they don't choke like in the Finals they did a year ago against Miami, they will be fine. But this year, even though San Antonio seems to be a little too slow, a little too old, Phoenix Suns are faster, and simply better......I think in a 7-game series, no one in the West can beat Phoenix right now....I've been wrong before but I sure like my odds.

yep, i like Mavs all the way. Let see, they r shooting 43% from the 3 points range which wasn't there last season. Howard and Harris are playing much better everyday. Buckner and Anthony will show their gutty defence, which wasn't there last season. There was only Stack off the bench, but now they have George who can put 15 points at any given night. Dampier is getting tough. Avey is learning how to shut down high offencesive player in the second half. like how they did to Ray Allen last night. He was just 3 of 9 in second half. Overall, they paid their price last season now they r hungry than ever. the others, San Anton clearly lost the passion of defence. Suns, they r good but they can't compete with Mavs down the strengh. Mavs can play their style so called run and gun. But, i don't see Suns can play Mavs style. Thats the advantage Mavs has. Ofcourse, Mavs and Suns will play for the Western Conf. where Mavs will beat Suns in their own game. And, there will a sunset in april in the valley of Phoinex Suns. Like Always.

NO question about it,dallas is the one of the best teams in the NBA,they have one of the best record in the NBA too,but real championship would be crowned on playoff.Lets not start biting our nails and breaking champaigne this soon either.Records indicate past and direct towards future but they cant guarentee any championship.We can get that moral from the NFL (indianapolis colts) every year,poor indy fans are forced to cancel their hotel and air book every year from the superbowl destination(miami this year).
The greatest obstacle in the future will be SUNS,and mavs wont have to worry about SPURS thats a good thing.Suns have the toughest defense and blazzing offense.The combination of Steve Nash,Borris Deaw and Omar stodmire is always dangerous trio in any court..so we should be careful right there.Their perimeter shooting capability has always been dangerous to any opponents and nash's 3-pointer skills could harash Mavs.

But this could never scare Mavs best starting 5-players in NBA.So this years championship(one of these two western Power house).

Dallas and Phoenix are the best team for another week or so till Carmelo comes back from the ban..............and guess what DENVER NUGGETS will be the team to beat with AI, Carmelo, JR and Camby.

Dallas Mavs and the Phoenix Suns r the best teams so far... but the action still has not started the real deal starts after ALL-Star games over.. lets wait n see ..

dallas is indeed the best team now in the NBA but you cannot disregard teams like bulls and pistons.....hard core defence ans gritting plays ..thats what I am talking bt baby..
Nets do have a very good outside chance so does the suns.but its going to be a heck of a season.........like always
