Firstly, I doubt the credibility of people who have spoken in opposition to Sai Baba. The fact that they are researchers (like Robert Preddy) does not make them "intelligent" speakers in the world of Tantra and divinity. Many of us live in Western countries, and we have seen how racism is deeply enrooted in the minds of some people over here. Just like racists, there are some fundamentalists, who think that if you are not a Christian, you will go to hell. Westerns are trying to take over the world in two ways: i) by using power (military tactics), ii) by changing the beliefs, thoughts of people in the world. For instance, baptizing.
Lets ponder over the work of Christian churches in Asian countries like Nepal. In my father's office, I met many people who got themselves baptized for the sake of money. Christians are traveling all over the world, especially in those parts where people are uneducated, poor and ignorant. They baptize people to make a "Christian world". These kind of churches and organizations receive billions of dollars as donations, and are very powerful.
When these people working over Asian countries see that an Indian Sai baba has millions of devotees not only in his region, but also in the West, they see that Christianity is on stake. Not only they are unable to baptize those people in Sai baba's region, but hundreds of thousands of their own "Western" people are being baba's devotees, and donating for Sai organizations. By observing the number of Sai centers growing all around the world, from America to Mexico to Africa, they feel as if a tumor is growing in their minds. So they provide millions of funding for anti Sai views. As a result, some people come up with books like "The Fall of the Sathya Sai baba". These fundamentalist anti-Sai organizations have millions of dollars in cash flow, and can easily attract even those people who have some faith in Sai baba, but also think what he is doing is just black magic, especially when they see some people in media imitating Vibhuti materialization and things like that.
So, these anti-Sai "stories" are sponsored by those who think their their religion and popularity is on stake, because of Sai baba. These sponsors are smart people with a huge back-up funding. They know how to create chaos in the minds of people, even those that are believers of baba. 90% percent of the mob just goes on with the ideas that are given them. They don't do their own research and evaluation; but, just come up with some conclusion which the media is presenting to them. So, fellow people in the world see some reports in internet, and conclude that Sai baba is a molester.
I am not here to force you into believing that Sai bab is a positive or negative force, but I am here to request you to do your own research, and try to see what baba is. Do not be carried by some trivial and fake opinion (which has been organized by someone to make you believe that) of some Westerner. Think about it. There is a lot more politics going on in religion, than you have ever thought of. Your postings in Sajha just makes me sad to acknowledge that many of you have been a successful target of some fundamentalists in the world, who think that only their religion and beliefs are supreme.
Moreover, to say if Sai baba is a God or not, you have to understand what God is. This might be the biggest puzzle in the world even for Stephen Hawkins. So, I don't blame you for stating any comments about his divinity. Far from physics, to understand if baba is god or not, remember those dreams in which baba came to you in his real form and guided you in those moments of your life, when you were in dark. illusioned about which path to take in life. Remember those moments in life when you were deeply troubled and baba came to u, assured you, inspired u, and finally lead you to victory. I have enough experiences in life to assure my heart that he is a divine being, spreading his message of "love and truth" to make the word more beautiful, more divine, more peaceful, ,,,where my heart can sing the song of eternal love and peace.
Britain may issue official warning against the godman
An exclusive report in The Times is causing new trouble for Sai Baba. It investigates the cases of three Britons, who suicided after getting involved with the Indian godman.
Aran Edwards, 37, classical guitarist and postgraduate theology student at the University of Wales in Newport, joined Sai Baba's Bristol group and started writing numerous letters to the guru. On 19 April 1999, he hanged himself from the staircase in his home in Cardiff.
Andrew Richardson, 33, South Africa born British national, made a pilgrimage to Sai Baba's ashram, booking in for a week, but mysteriously leaving after only two days. On September 19, 1996, he traveled to Bangalore and jumped from the eighth floor of the highest building, the State Bank of Mysore.
All this may not be enough to book Sai Baba for inciting suicide. There have been other suicides and suspicious deaths earlier, which did not cause any official reaction. Even when in June 1993 four of his close devotees (allegedly trying to assassinate him) were mysteriously shot dead in his bedroom and rumors of sexual abuse were palpable, he was not even questioned by police. More than judicial consequences, Sai Baba may face a further serious blow against his reputation by the new revelations.
"…The Indian Rationalist Association, an organisation of atheists and doubters which seek to debunk organized religion and disprove all miracles … denounce him as the biggest fraud of the `god-industry'", says the Times report. As an example for the simple tricks behind the Baba's "miracles", it describes the meantime famous Doordarshan episode, which - as part of the documentary Guru Busters - has been telecast around the world. (Guru Busters is a documentary on the work of Indian Rationalists made by Channel IV of Britain in 1995. See also the article No more holy ash - Rationalists' campaigns exposing Sai Baba show results in Bulletin # 8, 27 March 1999).
Mounting allegations of sexual abuse of devotees are slowly catching up with Sai Baba. After his former American follower Tal Broke published the Avatar of Night as long ago as in 1976, a growing list of victims have come out publicly, opening the flood gates of cases. They include both, Indians and foreigners, but all of them are living abroad. So far no case has been registered against Sai Baba in India. It is still not very easy to accuse or arrest a man, who counts several former presidents and prime ministers among his devotees and commands an army of top bureaucrats, businessmen and media persons.
In September 2000, the controversy surrounding Sai Baba took a new turn: several cases of sexual abuse of minor children of devotees became public and threatened to end his divine career behind bars (see the article Now it is Sai Baba's turn! By Sanal Edamaruku in Bulletin # 53, 29 September 2000). But once again Sai Baba managed to keep his head above water.
Look how this "HOMO" Monster is decieving all those blind followers. He is giving a speech on Shiva Linga and on the course he "materializes" the linga from the thin air. Watch carefully how people are decieved ! Watch the movement of his hands. Watch how he transport the Linga from the left hand to right by distracting his followers. He is such a worst stage magician. I suggest he learn some magic from P.C Sorkar (India's Greatest Stage Magician).
All those sheeps, ya'll need to wake up ! For once look into these evidences, do some research and doubt your blind faith ! Don't fall victim of this "HOMO Paedophile Monster".
To understand whether one is God or not, we have to take the help of authoritative knowledge which in this aspect is our ancient vedic scriptures such as Puranas, Bhagavad Gita , Srimad Bhagvatam etc. Most of us may argue that these scriptures are also written by common human beings and thus are fallible. This concern is mostly true because different people have presented their own interpretations of the vedic scriptures for example there are Bhagavad Gita from thousands of writers although the words spoken personally by Lord Krishna have the same essence. In Bhagavad Gita, Krishna says that He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, everything emanates from Him and He is the cause of all causes. In one verse, He says in scriptures/knowledge , He is the Vedas. Vedas are originally composed by Sri Vyasadeva, a literary incarnation of Lord Krishna. Vedas are perfect (except the unauthorized interpretation) because Krishna says He is the Vedas. Since Krishna is Bhagavana, He is perfect.
According to Vedas, God possess qualities such as He is the most attractive, He is the proprietor of everything (richest) but also the greatest renouncer, He is the strongest, He is most merciful, and He is eternal, blissful and full of knowledge (knower of everything). For example Lord Krishna, Rama exhibited these qualities and are thus considered as God. In some incarnations of God, one may not observe all these qualities , because when God appears he appears in a different form according to time and circumstances in order to fulfill a particular mission like Lord Budhha who appeared to preach the message of non-violence. However, sastras confirm that Lord Budhha is an incarnation of Godhead. Lord Krishna appeared in the form of his own devotee in order to ask people to chant the holy names of God. In this incarnation, the Lord did not show mystical activities like Krishna did 5,000 years ago in Vrindavan but this appearance as Lord Chaitanya is confirmed by Srimad Bhagavatam and is also known as ' charna avataar' (hidden incarnation). In Brahma Samhita, Lord Brahma says that 'isvara paramah Krishna saccid-ananda bigraha, anadir adir Govinda, sarva karana karanam'. So someone may be a great person, a mystic Yogi etc, but he cannot be a God if he does not possess these qualities and his appearance is not predicted or foreseen by the sastras. Actually human beings possess a minute amount of these qualities like some may be very rich, some may be very beautiful, some may be very famous etc. but that also for temporarily. Even if someone is very rich, famous, strongest, merciful, there is no one who is in full bliss and beyond the cycle of death, birth and disease etc, in contrast to what Lord Brahma says about Lord Krishna. So God is like a ocean and the human beings are the drop of water from the ocean. Qualitatively both are same, but quantitatively there is huge difference.
According to Vedic scriptures, we are in Kali-Yuga, the iron-age, the age of hypocrisy, quarrel, moral and religious degradation. Every Yuga has a Dharma (religious duty) according to Vedic scriptures and the Yuga Dharma of Kali-Yuga is congregational chanting (Sankirtana) of the holy names of the God. The major blessing of Kali-Yuga is that just by chanting the names of God like Krishna, Rama etc, one gets the 'punya' . Before Kali-Yuga, in Dvapara Yuga when Lord Krishna appeared personally showing all qualities of Godhead, the Yuga-Dharma was 'Deity Worshipping'. Before Dvapara Yuga, there was Tetra Yuga in which period Lord Rama appeared, the Yuga-Dharma was performance of Yagya (sacrifice). In Satya-Yuga (Golden age according to Vedas), meditation was the way for self-realization. All of these Yugas have certain period like Kali Yuga has 432000 years. Now, we have passed only about 5,000 years of Kali-Yuga. The qualties of Kali-Yuga are described very nicely in Srimad Bhagvatama and we will be surprised by seeing the things happening around us how the scriptures are correct. Srimad Bhagavatam says at the end of Kali-Yuga, the miseries of material world caused by natural calamities, scarcity of food, water, minerals, other natural resources etc will reach to such an scale that one man starts to eat another. There will be no one in a position to chant the name of Krishna, Rama, Budhha or Jesus. Then God will appear in the form of Kalki-avatar to save the existence and deliver all the people. After the end of Kali-Yuga, again Satya Yuga starts according to Srimad Bhagavatam. So in Kali-Yuga, there is no mention of appearance of any other incarnation of God. Therefore, from sastric point of view in Kali Yuga, except Lord Chaitanya , Lord Budhha and Lord Jesus (In one Purana, there is indirect mention of appearance of Jesus as a son of Godhead), others cannot be considerd as an incarnation of God although they may claim that they are God. In fact in Srimad Bhagavatam, it is clearly written that in Kali-Yuga, people will use religion to earn power, fame and wealth and hence there will be so called false Gurus or spiritual masters who cheat vast majority of people. Instead of using religion for self-realization, we see that religion is being used for political purposes and there is violence and hatred in the name of religion. This is normal. Suppose you are ill and you visit a doctor, who will definitely prescribe the medicine along with time and amount to be taken. If you take the medicine as your will neglecting the doctor's prescription, the same medicine will be poison to you. So if the religion is used for any other purpose rather than to understand the supreme truth, it will create havoc in society. If you talk about God and religion, people thus nowadays become suspicious about you and the topic of God has become almost a forbidden topic in so called modern civilization.
Actually according to Vedas, religion is the law of God and hence it cannot be founded by human beings like we do while developing some scientific theories. The purpose of religion is to nurture the nascent state of love every living entity has in his/her heart towards God. God is one although names are different and there is only one religion that is 'Sanatana Dharma'.
If someone claimns that he is a God, it could be verified only on the basis of Sastras, authorized Sadhus and Gurus, no so-called Gurus (I heard that once a family Guru requested the couple to send their young daughter in order to travel with him, which is against the rules of Varnashram Dharma).
I have disputed several times with the same topic over with my friends. Almost all of them, well I should say not all but most of them, came up with the argument that, it doesn't really matter because he has done so much for poor people, he has created hospitals, schools and so on and so forth (well, it was partly his work and mostly millions of donations that he received from folks that contributed to his beliefs, claiming him to be a god man). It will take me to oblivion before I start worshipping such kind of worthless rhetorical and provocative self-proclaimed god man that has no truth to power.
The Age (Australia)/November 12, 2000 By Padraic Murphy
For Hans de Kraker, a trip to India to see Sathya Sai Baba, a self-proclaimed god with a following of up to 25 million devotees, was a spiritual quest. But he said the pilgrimage ended when the 73-year-old guru tried to force him to perform oral sex.
Mr de Kraker, who now lives in Sydney, has gone public to alert devotees to a sex scandal that is threatening to undo Sai Baba, by far the most popular of India's new-age gurus.
"It is devastating to realise the man you see as a spiritual master is simply conning people for his own sexual gratification," Mr de Kraker, 32, said. "After a while you notice that the people chosen for private interviews tend to be good-looking young males."
Mr de Kraker, who first visited Sai Baba's ashram in 1992, said the guru would regularly rub oil on his genitals, claiming it was a religious cleansing, and eventually tried to force him to perform oral sex. He was kicked out of the ashram after alerting senior officials in 1996.
Mr de Kraker's story is not an isolated one, and a growing list of alleged victims is threatening to engulf the Sai Baba organisation, which has an estimated worth of $6billion. Droves have left after allegations of paedophilia and the rape of male followers.
The organisation has been shut down in Sweden after revelations that Conny Larson, now a film star in that country, was molested by Sai Baba. The FBI is looking into similar allegations made by American children and there are investigations into the sect in France and Germany.
Nas - My viewpoints are not too far off from yours, although I don't feel as strongly about him as you do. But I have to say I am disappointed you chose to use bigoted and homophobic words to describe him. Calling him a "homo", in my opinion, is in poor taste and doesn't make your argument any stronger. On the contrary, it has the potential to turn people away from agreeing with you because although they see through the Sai baba they could never refer to gays in a derogatory manner.
That said, if people chose to beleive in Sai baba or anyone else, I look at it as a matter of choice. Where I depart ways with some of the baba's followers is on the question of miracles. First, I don't beleive in them and can't understand how any rational person can, and second, I think the movement has it's own legs and does not need to depend on claims of miracle to sustain it.
Well said, Captain. I too believe that it wouldn't be rationale to try to change one's opinion with hate rather than logic and reasoning.
But really, I also think there ARE people who honestly believe Sai Baba's miracle are the outcome of his being godman, or by-product of his supernatural power. Maybe, for those people, the truth behind those miracles has to be surfaced. Having said this, I remember what Abraham T. Kovoor said:
He who does not allow his miracles to be investigated is a crook, he who does not have the courage to investigate a miracle is gullible, and he who is prepared to believe without verification is a fool.
One of the main targets during his miracle exposure campaign was Sathya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh state, India. Sathya Sai Baba is perhaps the most prominent god-man in India today, and was during Kovoor's time. Sai Baba claims to this day to materialize vibuthi or holy ash. Kovoor believed that the Baba performed this through sleight of hand. Many Indians throng to the ashrams of holy men who claim to perform such miracles. To expose Sai Baba and others, Dr Kovoor would produce holy ash seemingly from nowhere and distributed it amongst the audience. He would then demonstrate to his audience the sleight of hand, explaining that after some practice, anybody could perform the feat .
Kovoor wrote repeatedly to Sai Baba, requesting a meeting to discuss the baba's miraculous powers. Upon receiving no response, Kovoor communicated his intention to come to one of Sathya Sai Baba's ashrams, at Whitefield near Bangalore. When Kovoor arrived, Sathya Sai Baba had gone to his other ashram at Puttaparthi.
He was an efficient hypnotherapist and applied psychologist .The famous Malayalam movie "Punarjanmam" and Tamil movie "Maru piravi" was made on basis of his case dairy.
God doesnt need to perform stunts to make ppl believe that hez god. Why would god want to have private interviews.....c'mon....Blind acceptance can be hazardous. Nepali janta lai aafu lai napare samma they're not ready to accept facts.....tei bhayera hamro desh yesto isthiti ma pugya chha ahile......why dont u who believe this homo take ur sons or brothers to visit sai baba and send them to the private interview......this homo lived his life enjoyed it and i dont think now he would care even if ppl prove he is fake........
This is another classic video of Sai Baba fraud. In this video, he "materializes" the lingam from his mouth.
See how Baba brings the lingam into his mouth at the first time he brings a white handkerchief to his mouth with his left hand. Notice the bent third, fourth and fifth fingers from his left hand in which he holds the lingam, and watch how these fingers stretch flat, just at the moment the lingam has arrived in his mouth.
This movie shows how Baba acts as if he is coughing and because of this he has to use a handkerchief, but in fact he has already got the lingam in his handkerchief and puts the lingam with his left hand into his mouth; immediately afterwards he vomits the lingam.
Captain Hadook bro, thank you for pointing out my mistakes. I totally agree with you. It's people choice to choose who they wanna believe. Many people don't know the real truth about this criminal. Even after observing all these evidences, if they follow their belief, I really don't have anything to say.
I don't believe in or follow any 'babas', so doesn't matter whether he is a homosexual or not. I don't see the need in going after 'extras' when I have 33 crore options to choose from.
