Stay where you are. You don't need a green card if you are already living happily in UK.

There is racism in America, indeed but the extent of it depends where you live. In the metropolitan areas racism is almost non-existent. Good luck in your endeavors. -Shiv

Hi SO! I am so surprised to hear that virtually there is no racism in the United Kingdom. I don't believe on that especially in our own country (Nepal) I have felt so much racism during my stay there. It is hard to believe that those British accent lady's giving a condescending look to the high pitched black lady on a vending machine yesterday let me think again- are they a real or fake British accent, then! Well, I am sure you had thought a lot prior making such a decision on moving. One smart dude once said , "today, if you are not confused, you are just not thinking clearly." I clearly understand your dilemma. Good luck! HD

I think racism is more in UK than in US. I prefer US over UK because, US is country made up of immigrants so easy to settle down than progress... Well there is some racism if you end up settling down in some red neck area.

I just think he wanted to start a conversation about racism in America and made that story up about UK. I lived in UK for 3 months, I have friends there. To tell me that UK doesn't have any racism is like saying UK doesn't have any population. If u lack the accent u r outsider. Even Indians with UK accent were treated differently, sometimes better sometimes worse. Now, to answer your question whether US has any racism..bigger question to ask is what do you need? If you need everlasting peace, goto a rather peaceful country (Swiss??). If you want some excitement and lots of oppertunities come aboard. This(US) is not a heaven where you get everything you want, there are prices to pay.

It seems like you dont need to move to US as you are already preoccupied with the idea of racisism. I live in a small city in midwest and actually never felt anything. I have few friends in London and they say they have problems some time. Racism exists everywhere. In fact you have more racism in Nepal then anywhere else. If US is your 2nd choice and you are happy Whereever you live why to move?????????? You got greencard it doesnt mean USCIS is begging you to come here. Thanks

Man I went there last year and was travelling in a subway after watching a football game.well i was wearing a Man Utd's jersy and all of a sudden a Briton came in front of me and warned not to wear it in that area. Aint lying guyz........ So, Mr whatever.....what do u say it if not a racism. And what you heard about racism here is absolutely right. there exist racism in eeverypart of world. Talk about nepal man, remeber how tarkari bechne madhesi are treated even though they are from terai. So, what i suggest you is to stay safe in england. Peace dude.

Saurav, are you asking about racism in the US or within Nepalese? If you are asking about racism in the US. Then yes there is, but not in such ways that it is gonna disturb in terms of leading your happy life. Racism are ignorable in US from what I have experienced. Some examples of racism are: 1). White people act if they are much smarter and are condescending and Blacks act unnecessarily aggresive. 2). Asians try to dominate you if you are not a fluent speaker of American english, and pose as if they are better just coz they have been living here for longer time than you have. 3). Hispanics sound unpolite and mean to us nepalese. If you can deal those three problems, I welcome you abroad.

-I have heard about racism in UK and also heard that the Britons attitude towards Nepali is positive. -Racism is an attitude, negative attitude towards people of another race, religion or belief. It is a personal choice and there are many who chose to be that way. There was a report on ABC a while back about white supremacists in rise in America. -Shiv

Here are some of my observations of living in both countries: Racism - There is no difference in the level of racism in both countries. Public services - Better in UK in terms of healthcare, and neighborhood support (e.g. public transportation) Education and finance - You have better opportunities in the US Income level - it highly depends on what you are qualified for and what you get to work. Wherever you get a decent job and secured earning live there. I don't mind having PR in any countries. By the way, the originator of the thread is gone somewhere for a long time not to respond. ehehehehehehheeh
