Going on the 2nd week of december as well, does anyone know if we can schedule an interview from here. Also has anyone checked about doing the PIMS verification before we apply which could appreantly expedite the process.
Got stamping of this yr H1B on this September from Kathmandu,
you cannot apply from here; you need to go to Nabil Bank in person and apply.
If your interview date comes to be later than your return ticket date, they can expedite ur case based on ur company leave letter and travel itinerary.
how long did it take for them to review, has anyone got it on the same day ( havenot heard of anyone)
what did they ask you ?, what all did you give them, i had to reply to a RFE (had to submit a lot of documents) to get the h1b. Would ypou suggest carrying all those documents ??
I am not planning to go for a Visa stamping but one of my friend's wife got a H-4 visa (Primary Applicant's got H1b this year)..
Like ark said you can't book an appointment from here however for PIMS send a scanned copy of your Approval notice to KTM consulate and ask them to verify whether or not your record is updated , if not updated ask them politely to update it.
For Documents ,:
1. All Previous I20's
2. Ofcourse your Passsport and all previous I-94 if u had it.
3.W-2's and all tax return Documents(Fill out form 4506-T(Request for return of Tax return) , mail it IRS and get the Doc for the year that u want )
4. I797(Must have)
5.I129(If Possible)
6.LCA(Must have)
7.Your Offer Letter
8.All paytsubs
9.Employment verification letter.
10. For PPL from Consultancy(Firm Registartion Documents),Client Letter,Your Badge if u r working for End client),Agreement between your vendor and Client.
That's what i can remeber..
Final Piece of Advice go to KTM only if u had to..U never know with Consulate..
I don't seem to have my original copy of I 797. Is there any way I can get another copy? all i have is the photocopy. In order to get H1B stamping we need the original right?
Regarding PIMS, i don't know anything. What I did was went there, applied for visa, got interview data, appeared for interview on the given date and the counselor told me to come the next day to collect visa.
It's good to have. never know with ktm consulate...It's not a rocket science to get tax return docs..u will get in a week if u fill out the form that i mentioned and send it to IRS..

Interesting Question. Not necessarily ...PIMS was devised to facilitate to update the info of H1B beneficiary..In india you don't need to have Original I797. To be in the safe side, email KTM consulate..they will respond to you within a matter of days..
Does it make a difference? I am a direct hire but work for comparatively small company.Any info would be appreciated. I was planning to go to nepal while in F1 but H1 got approved..
hey....i am going to nepal this december too . However i only have about 2 weeks of leave. Will that be enough time to get the visa stamped? Will they really expedite the case if i show them my return ticket? Also anybody know of any contacts or agents for cheap tickets to ktm?...so far i haven;t found anything below 2000 dollars...

Not really because that is one of the peak season for PPL applying for F-1 Visa..Chances are 2 weeks might not be enough for You...

Depends !! they might expedite the case or may not...Email KTM consulate ..Why don't you guys go to KTM in february..Won't be lots of Traffic during that time..2 Months won't make huge difference unless u guys are getting married!!
i got it from for 1399 flying thru delhi to ktm in asianan airlines, only thing is u got to get them before the 10th of dec and after the 5th of jan.

about hte scrutiny i dont think it matters what "guy" u are (i am assuming most of us are IT guys), i belive it hsould be a standard process if these many applicants have been put thru the process.
Also there was a guy who posted abt being stuck ( just a few days ago) does anyone know what happened to him, i couldnot find the post.
Any more info on PIMS verification. I heard they use to verify PIMS when you sent a scanned copy of your i797 in the past, but they stopped doing it.Nowadays they respond like:
