I upgraded Ubuntu 9.10 to 10.04 today. Everything looks fine but wireless wouldn't connect. The 'enable wireless' in the network manager icon is not active. I tried installing hardware drivers.. it shows Broadcom STA (i think!).. is active and working.. However I need Broadcom 43 or something.. Do any of you have a solution for this... thanks in advance. guchcha chor.

gc, have you tried using ndiswrapper on that broadcom card? (pretty old link but useful info)
I have had a lot of problems with broadcom 43xx cards in the past and one common solution was to get the driver modules from the manufacturer's website and add it to the startup modules (in archlinux.. im not too sure if its diff in ubuntu). but this hasnt always worked.
what is ur wireless card? is it netgear wxxx (grey 'flash-drive' looking usb plugin) which comes for arnd $40 frm best buy? cuz i had that and past ma i spend a lot of time trying to get that fixed but eventually ubuntu just started supporting it.
Good luck.
