Please follow this link to help Nepalese in Houston raise contributions to help send Ashok's body back to his parents in Nepal.

Dear Friends:

The Nepalese community in Houston mourns the death of 21-year old Mr. Ashok Bhattarai who was shot during the store robbery where he was working in the evening of Sept 28, 2008. Mr. Ashok Bhattarai was a student of Houston Community College.

(http://www.fortbendnow.com/pages/full_story?page_label=home&id=247318-Missouri-City-Store-Clerk-Murdered-During-Convenience-Store-Robbery&article-Missouri-City-Store-Clerk-Murdered-During-Convenience-Store-Robbery%20=&widget=push&instance=home_news_lead_story&open=& )

The grief-stricken parents of late Mr. Bhattarai have asked his friends in Houston to send his body back as they will not be able to travel.

In order to fulfill the wishes of the grieving family, we urge all our friends to kindly contribute whatever you can so that his family members in Nepal could perform Mr. Bhattarais final rites. According to one government official, the transportation cost and expenses can run up to USD 15,000.00.

As time is of essence, we urge everyone to follow the following link and click on the Donate button to support us financially for this cause. The donation is being collected using Nepali Association of Houston's PayPal Account. It accepts major credit/debit card for your kind contribution.

May Mr. Bhattarais soul rest in peace. May God provide the strength to his beloved family members and friends to go through such tragic event.

tobler, I just made a small donation but I wish that could make more. Unfortunately, I am jobless and could only afford a small sum but I do hope that those sajha members who hold full time job will donate more generaously.

I am bereaved at his death. I didn't know him personally but reading the comments left by  his customers, there is no doubt that he was one great, humble person whose life was taken away by a inhuman, low-life criminal.

I just made a donation through Paypal and I hope that we will be able to send his body back to Nepal with a collective effort of people here in Sajha.

God bless his soul.

Tobler why doesn't http://www.houstonnepalese.org list the donation information?
The news says "Ashok's family, from the Dallas area, was informed of his death Monday morning." Is the family in dallas or Nepal?

From reading comments he must be a very nice person. May he rest in peace.

May his soul rest in eternal peace!!!  My thoughts with his family, friends and loved one.  May God give them peace and courage to face this tragic reality.

This is sad nepali people.  I know it is hard and for those who are students do not have much places to choose to work but try your best to avoid gas station, especially working at  night.  So many young nepali guys got shot within a short period of time.  That is very sad for all of us.  My prayers for Ashok's family.
