There is no 'Bhat Khuwai' in american culture. Baby shower is, before baby's born. if you trying to translate that would be 'rice feeding', Unlike us, they don't have a time table to feed baby 'burgur'.

You can just translate in English, but cannot borrow the phrase from American culture to say "Bhat Khwai".

"Rice Feeding" is the popular phrase among Nepalese to share with Americans.

Anna Prasan ( sanskarit) and bhaat khuwaune ( bolachaal), which is timetable to feed solid food which is bhaat.

So, it's a second step from bottled food to solid food. Girls grow faster in their early childhood therefore they get solid food earlier than boys.

Some times we can not get right word so need to come with good substite that reperesnts. How you explain TABLE in nepali? When I was child, we had a bronze pan with solid cover and was good for geda gudi and maasu. They used to call saspyan, now I realised that is Sauce Pan, Inidan inherited from British and then we Nepali did.

Baby Christening means baptising a baby and naming it too.Christens do that to welcome their new born baby in their community ,church.........It's not same as bhat khuwai. It's like Nwaran( I think).

Bhat Khuwai means simple.Rice feeding ceremony.
