Dhiraj ji, kina yati sarho yaar? Cool down man. It's a genuine problem of retired Gurkhas and we need to express our solidarity. Some days back, we lost our great Fighter Bhanubhakta Gurung- who was awarded Victoria Cross by Queen of England. But, his story was very heart breaking. After his resignation, he was living with the pension of some 300-400 NRs per month. Please Think for what they fought in alien land by becoming the alien's soldier? To deserve this small token of some hundreds. British Government is making discrimination between Gurkhas and their native soldiers. These people showed their so much courage and now, they are just neglected. They do not have any social seciurity as their british counterparts are entitled. While fighting in the war, Gurkhas stay on the front line and all rest of the soldiers march taking protection of Gurkhas but when issues of pension and social security comes, the British Government is simply turning their blind eyes and deaf ear. This is totally unacceptable. We should support former Gurkha's fight against discrimination in all levels.

i have all the respect for older gurkhas but this new gurkhas are going to be in shit......they are always wanting more. when they join gurkha in nepal they are clearly told what they will get and how much they will get.....(only new recruit) yet when they come to uk they start to open their mouth... friends you dont know the situation of gurkhe here.....75 percentage of old gurkhe who were allowed to come to uk to reside permenantly have no job...due to their lack of skills and their twake sons are always involved in fights with local british cotizens. i have my respect for the older gurkhas. but in next few years british goverment will scrap gurkha regiment like wales , scottish, and irish regiment. then they will see the effect of opening their mouth.

Umm.....the gurkhas that were protesting were actually the "older" gurkhas. dhirajojha, you say that you respect the "older" gurkhas. But when the same "older" gurkhas are protesting you tell them to shut up. Don't know what you're getting at.

Thid Dhiraj Ojha is talking like an Anpad Gawaar. Yes in the villages OUR Nepali folks don't know any better therefore will accept whatever is given to them. A lot of them will even sign in a blank peice of paper. That does not mean the British Army can take full advantage of them. After all they do most of the british army's dirty work and are in the lowest pay scale in their rank and file. I knew of a Victoria Cross recepient Mr Ghaley in the 70's had to sell his VC medal to feed his family. I am talking about justice for such people who put their life on the line to serve them.. and were thrown to the dogs when came recieve their pensions. I AM TALKING ABOUT FAIRNESS NOT DEMANDING ANYHTING FROM THEM. AND THE LAST TWO WARS THEY FOUGHT .. THE GURKHA WERE ON THE FRONT LINE(Falkland and Afganisthan). At the same time they should be receiving that front line payment too. OUR NEPALI BLOOD IS NOT THAT CHEAP.

Dhiraj Ojha, Go look it up in the history books, newspaper clips, and magazines published during the Falkland War. THEN YOU WILL KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. Tyo Typical NEPALI BHEDA justo kura nagar ta GADHA. TALAI THAHA CHAINA BHANDAI MA FACTS LAI NAI DISCARD GARIDINEY. he he he. http://www.boloji.com/analysis2/0228.htm In the end Nepali BHEEEDAAA TA PARYOO he he Now he wants to twist the actual facts of history to support his argument. ha ha ha AYY GADHA TYO JHAADAAA LAGEKO MUKH JUST PYAR PYAR KARAUNU PAYE PUGYO YO GADHA LAI. Gurkha's were also the first ones to land in Afganisthan from the British Government because the Landscpe of Afganisthan was very similar to Nepal MORON. AS THEY SAY EMPTY VESSELS DO MAKE A WHOLE LOTTA NOISE. ha ha ha The extensive bibliography of the Falklands War has one glaring exception, the part played by the legendary Gurkhas. Regarded by many as the world's finest infantry soldiers, the fiercesome reputation of these Nepalese troops for blood-thirsty aggression and stealth put real fear into the Argentine troops and civil population. They sailed with 5 Infantry Brigade on the QE2 and played a key role in the surrender of the occupiers. Written by one of their officers, this book conveys the professional, personal and emotional aspects of the Gurkhas' involvement. It provides a unique insight into a fighting force surrounded by mystique. This is both a serious and light-hearted account of the build-up, the battle and the aftermath of fighting(http://www.lycos.com/info/falklands-war.html). An yeah they only got there after the war was over he he ACCORDING TO DHIRAJ MORON OJHA HERE. ke bhanney yestoo gadha lai. he he

DhirajOjha, go do some research before blabbering off. The Gurkhas were deployed to the Falklands well before the war ended. And they were active in combat missions. Currently, they are very much in the thick of the war against the Taliban. Again, please look it up and you'll see. Also you had mentioned that the Scottish, Welsh regiments were scrapped? Check out http://www.army.mod.uk/unitsandorgs/regiments_battalions.htm and you will see that there are Irish, Welsh and Scottish regiments still present in the British Army. And what's up with the language and the oversized fonts?? They don't make your case any stronger!!

Gone are the days when Nepali used to be known as Bir Gorkhali. Now a days they are f@king drug addicts.
Dhirajojha. I have to agree with you a lot. Man this son and daughters of Gurkha are nothing but a pain in the a*** of British Government. In a small city of plumsteand, charlton and woolwich there are almost 100 sons and daughters of Gorkha who are seriously fallen into drugs. Many of them having sex at the age of 15-16 , the parents are foced to marry them before the age of 18. Yini haru le Nepali ko naam baadnaam gari sakyo.
When an average Nepali studnet come to UK and study hard and get nothing, but these drugaddicts gets everything so easily.Gurkha movement have been supported by poor party called LiB dem. This party are at the moment working in favour of Gorkha and others because they want to get votes of the minorities. History says LibDem is one of the racist party and not much popular among british. Although I have to agree LibDem has been very helpful to Nepali community and that is one commendable effort.
Gurkha clearly signed a pact and what british government while getting recruited and what british government gave them was sufficient to live in Nepal. What really pisses me off is there are about 6-7 Gurkha organisation everybody have there own demand. Like in Nepal when one demand is met anohter group comes up with a fresh demand. How can british government keep fulfilling these demands.

no queiro
opting for being drug addicts or not ???? it is their choice , i should say may be due to hormones in adolescence. btw , who are not drug addicts ?? do u think british are not ? or say welsh are not ? or scottish are not ?? every nation and nationals have fair share of drug addicts ?
coming back to they get everything so easily incontrast to the nepali student who works so hard and get nothing !! well, try to understand - why are they there in the first place ? why are they receving those funds unlike the normal nepali students ?? their fathers and forefathers must have risked everything for the British - with a glimmmer of hope that they would atleast take care of their children and grand children. tell me , why do the aborgines in Australia are paid by the government - even if they donot work ???
lim democrats ??? well , its all about politics. All British Gurkhas ( present or ex ) should have friends across party lines.
