No discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, sex, religion, national origin, n physical orientation, or blah blah blah". These are the policies of every US universities and colleges. But Matter of Fact, why these universities overcharge intenational students on tuition fees? both national and international students receives the same facilities fron the universities or colleges? but why international students are overcharged on tuition, three or four times. Is it a penalty for being over here? Do u think the above statement in admission policies is right?

When you sit together with local guys, you can easily see the response of professors towards there natives and to us(?)
You can leave them in one way but even chinese and indian professors try to discriminate to international student.
Scholarships are always titled with 'US citizens only'

It's not that they are charging International Students more, but they are charging local students less.

The state government subsidizes university education, so they want to make sure that benefit only applies to residents of their own state, who have presumably paid taxes and will continue to pay taxes. The state gets the money from its residents to begin with, so they are merely redistributing.

Also if you will notice it's not just International Students, state's also descriminate against students from other states too.

All these stuffs sucks. So do u think there is equal oppotunity n full freedom in SO CALLED "ONE N ONLY FULL DEMOCRATIC NATION"! So Is there anyway we can do something better than this for the sake of international students like us?

In public colleges and universities, the state residents pay the lower tuition rate because they or their family is already paying taxes, part of which funds those state schools. Out-of-state students pay more, understandably. International students pay as much as out-of-state students. So, on this matter, it is prepostorous to say that the schools discrimate against international students.

Umm..because
1. its their country and thats how they make money
2. even people from outer state have to pay extra than instate
3. It has nothing to do with the race and racism

Before you guys start going apeshit on the colleges and universities. Just take a good look at how YOU treat them when they come to Nepal. Do we treat them equally ? NOPE. Do we try and jack up the price of any commodity and make them pay more ? Yes. Do we call them Thisss Khairey Bander when they walk around half naked in the streets of KTM ? Do we let them inside inside Pashupatinath's Temple ? Nope. Do we let them take pictures of religious ceremonies ? nope.

SO WHAT THE FUG MAKES YOU THINK THET THEY WOULD TREAT YOUR LAME ASS EQUALLY ? I mean it could be language barrier because of accent it could be anything. Thanxs for bringing this topic. Not only on tuition fees but there are lots of other factor where international student discriminated. The professor would allow whites to talk on the phone but we have to take permission to use the bathroom only. Go to the libarary and ask for the catalog or any other book the white libarian would treat u like a shit. Student advisor is there just for a name only.Of couse many of you visited or would visit mc donald every day . How many of you get "have a good day" or even a "Thank you". One might argue that they are too tired but wat about throwing the trash from a white guy by them.Shopping mall, parks, recreation center there is dicrimination for us.

Yes u r 100 % right... we also discriminate them in our country ...but the thing is that we don't say " no discrimination on the basis of sex,religion and blah blah". But thse mot*fu*kers say one thing but do another thing.

to BC, if they want to study together in Nepal, surely we will not descriminate them. Neplese think that they are superior and so they are treated as guest but here
they think that we came from like 'next world' and we are 'uncivilized'.

The tuition fees for nationals and internationals are different in only the state universities not in the private universities/colleges.

State universities are funded by the state and of course the state residents who pay taxes for their state will have to pay less if they go to a state university.

I dont think thats a discrimination. It's just like a pay back thing.

if you guys come over to the great state of Minnesota. No international pays out of state tuition in any Minnesota State Universities and Colleges. Instead, the very Americans from other states pay out of state. So, i don't get the rhetoric of discrimination. About using cell phones in class, I think a college student is well enough matured to act civilizely in class.

I am apalled by what do not remember me wrote. I have never heard, let alone experienced, such problem. And I have had all of my higher education in the States. If anything, I have found my academic careerly absolutely fair and non-discriminatory. If you come across such treatment in school, you should raise the issue wherever you can - campus newspaper, administration, ISA, etc. Worse comes to worse, sue the bastards and the school.

It is hard to believe your account though. Not that I am saying you are "thoking guff."
