Call me a supporter of conspiracy theorists, but this weekend, I happened to watch this video where Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins, members of the very first crew in the history, who are 'believed' to have successfully landed on the moon, were in a press conference right after the completion of the mission. The press conference has been tagged by the conspirators as-- "the most miserable press conference in the history".

I am quite sure, many folks over here, are aware of the points that the conspiracy theorists have raised from the pictures, that NASA published of the astronauts conquering the moon. Click herefor details.

Let's not delve into those points, however, I would like you to watch these clips of the press conference. A controversial journalist, Bart Sibrel, asks this question and look how the astronauts answer.


SIBREL: I have two brief questions that I would like to ask, if I may. When you were carrying out that incredible Moon walk, did you find that the surface was equally firm everywhere or were there harder and softer spots that you could detect? And secondly, when you looked up at the sky, could you actually see the stars in the solar corona in spite of the glare?


ALDRIN: The first part of your question, the surface did vary in its thickness of penetration somewhere in flat regions. [...]

ARMSTRONG: We were never able to see stars from the lunar surface or on the daylight side of the Moon by eye without looking through the optics [i.e., the lunar module's navigation telescope]. I don't recall during the period of time that we were photographing the solar corona what stars we could see.

COLLINS: I don't remember seeing any.




Abject misery because of three weeks spent in quarantine after returning from Moon? and complete disdain for the worldwide publicity that has been forced on them, or is there another reason for there woes? Does their body language look like that of a person who made what seems like impossible, possible? You decide! It is also quite a unique piece of film and stands alone as an example of 'How to conduct yourself when giving a press conference!'

i, myself, don't buy the claims that the conspirators have made on the pictures. but to be really honest, after watching this press conference video, i am being a lil' cynical :P....even if they did land on the moon, this is not how you deliver a conference, haina? they could have done it better...confidence man!!! confidence!!! i don't see any :P :D

flips, agreed! if it was a normal person like you or me, i could understand. but a lack a confidence coming from people who made "one giant leap for mankind" does not look convincing, does it? does it look like a press conference from people who made, what seemed like an impossible, possible? :P

Nevertheless, an interesting topic! :-) Thank you for bringing it up. When I saw their documentary on either History or Discovery Channel not long ago, I was facinated by their efforts. I wanted to be one of them! :-)

Response to your Mars landing proposal: I'll be a dead soul by the time I get a good training. I'll be geared up if scientists/researchers be confident enough to expose the fact that Mars won't have any conspiracy or diplomacy theories! Talking about Mars, I vaguely remember this Nepali article where it talked about aliens from Mars, coming down to the Earth. Do not know if that was fiction or a confident article. I guess I was too little to understand the difference between fiction and reality.

Few years back, I have been thinking this moon landing is a big big lie. Following video does not have any credibility, but it is so so funny to me.

Excitement could be taken into consideration. But still why would they fake their landing on the moon?

--that's a good question. if it was not for an answer to their arch rival, former USSR, who, just few years before this (8 yrs. to be precise) were successful in sending the first ever human (Yuri Gagarin) to space, US would not become desperate to this extent. but again, i am not speaking for the conspirators, however, it was quite obvious that US were feeling the heat from the challenge from former USSR in the sixties.

As for Mars, it will take a while before human will attempt to land on it. So we have plenty of time to polish our skill :P

i don't quite listen to conspirators myself. i am not even telling people to read their claim which are mostly of outrageous nature. this thread is purely to share the videos of the press conference which, to me, looked pretty inconvincing, fake to some extent and definitely far from being natural.

They had to fake the landing on the moon because after all was said and done, they had not achieved anything despite the fact that they had poured humongous amount of budget into the project.

They better come up with something if not a fake landing lest their heads would roll quite literally. You know what I mean?

At least that's one reason if the theory is the truth.

that was a very powerful blow indeed. i would not want to take any chance with buzz :P. i don't have any problem with admitting that they did, even if they didn't quite actually :D....
having said that, their show on press conference did leave lot to be desired.
